Lacey- Fanfic Final Version

Her heels of ruby red clacked melodically as she strode down the concrete sidewalk, light as always, as though her small frame had been caught in one of the mid-autumn gusts which whirled about the streets, and rustled softly through the golden trees. It had been a long time since she had walked these familiar roads, years in fact, and yet everything seemed to be just as she had left it. The old brick houses, the dreary British sky above, and to her left, the store from which she remembered so long ago cheekily stealing a scarf that she had quite fancied. Where that scarf was now she did not know. She guessed she'd given it away some time ago. She never kept clothes for too long, she always loved giving them away once she'd outworn them, setting them free into the world so that they could live out some fantastical adventure in exotic lands. She imagined now, that knitted wool scarf, twirled around the neck of some beautifully elegant woman, in France perhaps? Yes, France she decided. She could picture her now, sitting on her balcony, a fragile china teacup balanced between her thumb and forefinger, long black hair blowing gently in the wind. How romantic she thought. She'd always wanted to go to France. That would be her next destination. Of course she'd been to a lot of foreign countries since she'd left. New York, Peru, Cambodia, Russia, she particularly enjoyed Japan. The outrageous clothes and colours had made her eyes bulge and her heart swell. She adored colours. Yellow was her favourite, and orange, and pink, anything bright and cheery that made her lips smile. How she loved to smile.

She couldn't wait to see Reuben, her little Reuben. She imagined he must be so big by now and just as greedy as ever. Her mum and dad would be so glad to see her also, she hoped. She felt guilty that she hadn't said goodbye, or that she'd not spoken to them since. She didn't mean to leave so unexpectedly, but she did. She had to do it. It's not like there was much to stay for anyway. No one had needed her. No one had wanted her. Not even him. Not even Sid...

At the thought of the boy she was once so in love with, her chest began to ache. Why had he not wanted her, what was wrong with her? Was she not as pretty enough? Not as pretty as Michelle? She was definitely thinner, that much gave her some satisfaction. She'd beat Michelle at that at least. She never did understand it, it's not like Michelle had wanted him back anyway, why didn't he see that, why didn't he see how much SHE wanted him. NEEDED him. Her head became flustered. Why was she thinking of this again? After all these years, after all the distance she'd put between them so as to forget the boy who broke her heart, it seemed as though coming back home meant coming back to heartache.

She shook her head, long wavy tresses of gold tousled about her shoulders as she did so and fell still about her face. She looked into a shop window as she passed, her reflection looking back at her. She hadn't changed much she supposed. Her hair was still the same blonde if only slightly longer and slightly wilder. She dressed much the same, a vintage yellow dress with touches of lace, hung off her petite body. Not much protection from the slight chill in the autumn air. She knew she should have worn her cardigan. Thick white tights adorned her legs which disappeared into her ruby red heels. She was just a tiny as always. No weight lost, but no weight gained either. She was pleased about this. She imagined the others would not be if they could see her now. Especially not Sid. He never did like it when she starved herself. Not that she needed to worry herself with such thoughts now, the others were all long gone, just like she herself had been up until now. No need to concern herself with thoughts of awkward encounters or explanations of where she'd been for the last four years. They wouldn't care anyway. They'd probably forgotten all about her, moved on with their new and exciting lives filled with new and exciting people. She couldn’t help but wonder what had become of them all. Where they were now, what they had become. Especially him...

She continued on down the streets she once called home, her light brown eyes drinking in all the memories which surrounded her. Lost in her own thoughts of nostalgia she came to a sudden halt. At first she stood confused, unsure as to why she had stopped, then regaining her focus she looked at the small diner before her and she knew. She had been there so many times before. Rarely did she eat a meal there though. She preferred to sit and observe the people around her, going about their lives. Eating their cheeseburgers and fries, drowned in ketchup, without a care. Without guilt. She would sit, and watch, and wish. Then when she could watch no more she would leave. Only a salt and ketchup smile remaining at the table which she had sat. She also remembered the times she’d spent there with her beloved Sid. She pressed her face to the diner window, hand held above her eyes to shield them from the stinging glare which reflected off the smeared glass. It looked just as it always had. It was as if it could have been for years ago, and for a moment, she revelled in the thought. Her favourite memory flooded her mind, the kiss she had shared here with Sid. It wasn’t their first kiss, but it was her favourite.

She scanned the room, her target being the table at which her cherished memory occurred but as she reached her destination her eyes landed upon a face. That face. That face which made her heart begin to pound. What was he doing here? He wasn’t supposed to be here… She panicked. But only briefly, as those thoughts were wiped blank when she saw that face that she had loved so much, lean over, and saw those lips, soft and pink, kiss another’s that were not her own. And in that instant, her pounding heart broke into a million tiny shards which pierced her whole chest and left her breathless.

Under Siege 1

Any one who likes action movies will love Steven Seagal movies because he is a true hero and his one of the best martial arts experts in the world.

Under Siege is one of many Seagal's action movies that is indeed an awesome movie with a great plot. A ship with nuclear missiles on board is hijacked by former high level military hitman who blackmails the government. The ship's cook played by Steven Seagal, is the only person on board who can stop them.

The cook is actually a highly trained green beret and he single handedly fights back until he kills the hijackers and takes control of the ship.

I recommend this movie to anyone who likes action movies.

Undisputed 3 Redemption

I had never heard of UNDISPUTED 3 REDEMPTION, until a friend of mine mentioned that I might like it because I like action movies. Having just watched it UNDISPUTED 3 is now at the very top of my must-watch list. And martial arts fans will not be disappointed.

Old Dogs

A comedy about a fun-loving bachelor and an unlucky-in-love divorcee who are trying to close the biggest business deal of their lives.Unexpectedly they become in charge of the care of six-year-old twins.

Neither of these two best friends are good or have experience looking after kids. The movie is about the changes and struggle they make while looking after these kids to a new-found understanding of what's really important in life.

Invictus

The film tells the true story about how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team to help unite the country during the 1995 World Rugby Cup held in South Africa.

Mandela has just been apointed as president with a nation that is racially and economically divided as result of the history of apartheid.

Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela forms a close relationship with the captain of the team.

The name of the movie Invictus is derived from following poem written by the English Poet William Ernest Henley. It was first published in 1875.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

The Wonder Boy (Completed)

I have made some changes in my FanFic as I wanted to introduce more information about Sam’s ability and power to control the elements of nature. The word limit made it difficult to share more than this.

In winter of 1930s in a small town far away from the busy cities there lived a family. An ordinary and simple family living in a time of hardship and living off the land. John was a farmer and the father of two children, married to Joanna his wife and childhood sweetheart. Mollie was the faithful and loyal dog.

Every morning without fail, seven days a week John would walk many miles from the house with his horse and cart and Mollie his loyal companion by his side. His wife every day would prepare breakfast for him and the children and often she would have to take John his lunch as he was always more concerned that the children had eaten.

As usual Sam could hear his mother calling him. “Come on Sam, get up its time for school” said his mother. Sam lay a little longer in bed and thought school was the last place he really wanted hurry up and go to.

Sam is twelve years old and attends the local community school with his sister Sara. She is two years younger than Sam and always looked up and admired her big brother, most of all because Sam possessed something special that no one else knew about except her and her parents.

There had always been something special between Sam and his mother. A bond and a way of speaking with one another without words.

One day on the way to school Sam and his sister meet another boy Mathew. While they were nearing the school, Sam suddenly stopped walking. His sister and Mathew slowed down wondering why he stopped. As they looked up at the sky they saw dark clouds swirling above Sam's head.“What’s happening Sara” yelled Mathew as he was feeling scared and shocked at what he was seeing.

“Don’t worry just be quiet” said Sara. This was not the first time Sara had seen something like this happening to her brother. She knew that her brother was an extra ordinary kid and had super natural powers.

After short time the cloud disappeared from around Sam. “What happened Sara?” said Mathew. “Don’t talk about it to anyone” said Sara. They kept walking to school as though nothing had happen.

At school Sam would spend most of his free time alone and away from the other kids.

Even though he was doing well at school he didn’t want to be there. Sam had the ability to control the elements of nature. These being air, water, fire and earth.

For him being at school only meant he couldn't practice or use his power even if he was being bullied.

Sam's mother had told him, that one day when she was pregnant with him and was walking to take lunch to his father working in the fields a strange event had happened.

As she got closer to the fields, a large gust of wind came up and suddenly she found herself surrounded by swirling wind and dark clouds forming around her head. She heard a voice telling her that her baby when born will possess the power to control the elements of nature and was chosen to help mankind.

Charlie was known as a bully and angry kid amongst other kids at school. Every day he would pick on Sam by annoying him and calling him “the wonder boy”. Charlie was saying that because Sam was always setting alone and never playing with the others, but was really clever and the teachers liked him.

One day at school Charlie was picking on another kid by calling him names and pushed him down to the ground. Sam who was watching couldn’t sit and do nothing any longer. He stood up and yelled “stop Charlie!”. Charlie looked at Sam and laughed saying, “what are you going to do about it?” Sam didn’t say anything. Instead Sam stood up and started moving his hands and arms in a slow motion backward and forward and side to side. As he did this the wind started swirling around Charlie from head to his toes. The ground beneath Charlie started to shake and vibrate like an earthquake and he fell to the ground.

Sam ran quickly to the place he always goes to, to be by himself and to be alone. This place was very special to him. Hidden deep in a mountain not far from his home was this place, a cave. In this place, a river flowed from a waterfall and he would regain his energy and his spirit would be lifted by listening to the wind. Sam was worried that he had used his powers in front of kids at school and now sat and contemplated what will happen next.
