Lacey's Draft #2

Skins Fanfic

So I decided to change the last half of my fic and took Cassie to the diner instead of her old house as I wanted to bring more of her previous relationship back into the story as well as bring Sid himself into it quicker (even if only briefly at this moment in time) which I couldnt do with the last draft due to the word limit.

Her heels of ruby red clacked melodically as she strode down the concrete sidewalk, light as always, as though her small frame had been caught in one of the mid-autumn gusts which whirled about the streets, and rustled softly through the golden trees. It had been a long time since she had walked these familiar roads, years in fact, and yet everything seemed to be just as she had left it. The old brick houses, the dreary British sky above, and to her left, the store from which she remembered so long ago cheekily stealing a scarf that she had quite fancied. Where that scarf was now she did not know. She guessed she'd given it away some time ago. She never kept clothes for too long, she always loved giving them away once she'd outworn them, setting them free into the world so that they could live out some fantastical adventure in exotic lands. She imagined now, that knitted wool scarf, twirled around the neck of some beautifully elegant woman, in France perhaps? Yes, France she decided. She could picture her now, sitting on her balcony, a fragile china teacup balanced between her thumb and forefinger, long black hair blowing gently in the wind. How romantic she thought. She'd always wanted to go to France. That would be her next destination. Of course she'd been to a lot of foreign countries since she'd left. Peru, Cambodia, Russia, she particularly enjoyed Japan. The outrageous clothes and colours had made her eyes bulge and her heart swell. Oh how she loved colours. Yellow was her favourite, and orange, and pink, anything bright and cheery that made her lips smile. How she loved to smile.

She couldn't wait to see Reuben, her little Reuben. She imagined he must be so big by now and just as greedy as ever. Her mum and dad would be so glad to see her also, she hoped. She felt guilty that she hadn't said goodbye, or that she'd not spoken to them since. She didn't mean to leave so unexpectedly, but she did. She had to do it. It's not like there was much to stay for anyway. No one had needed her. No one had wanted her. Not even him. Not even Sid...

At the thought of the boy she was once so in love with, her chest began to ache. Why had he not wanted her, what was wrong with her? Was she not as pretty enough? Not as pretty as Michelle? She was definitely thinner, that much gave her some satisfaction. She'd beat Michelle at that at least. She never did understand it, it's not like Michelle had wanted him back anyway, why didn't he see that, why didn't he see how much SHE wanted him. NEEDED him. Her head became flustered. Why was she thinking of this again? After all these years, after all the distance she'd put between them so as to forget the boy who broke her heart, it seemed as though coming back home meant coming back to heartache.

She shook her head, long wavy tresses of gold tousled about her shoulders as she did so and fell still about her face. She looked into a shop window as she passed, her reflection looking back at her. She hadn't changed much she supposed. Her hair was still the same blonde if only slightly longer and slightly wilder. She dressed much the same, a vintage yellow dress with touches of lace, hung off her petite body. Not much protection from the slight chill in the autumn air. She knew she should have worn her cardigan. Thick white tights adorned her legs which disappeared into her ruby red heels. She was just a tiny as always. No weight lost, but no weight gained either. She was pleased about this. She imagined the others would not be if they could see her now. Especially not Sid. He never did like it when she starved herself. Not that she needed to worry herself with such thoughts now, the others were all long gone, just like she herself had been up until now. No need to concern herself with thoughts of awkward encounters or explanations of where she'd been for the last four years. They wouldn't care anyway. They'd probably forgotten all about her, moved on with their new and exciting lives filled with new and exciting people. She couldn’t help but wonder what had become of them all. Where they were now, what they had become. Especially him...

She continued on down the streets she once called home, her light brown eyes drinking in all the memories which surrounded her. Lost in her own thoughts of nostalgia she came to a sudden halt. At first she stood confused, unsure as to why she had stopped, then regaining her focus she looked at the small diner before her and she knew. She had been there so many times before. Rarely had she ever eaten a meal there though. She preferred to sit and observe the people around her. Going about their lives. Eating their cheeseburgers and fries drowned in ketchup, without a care. Without guilt. She would sit, and watch, and wish. Then when she could watch no more she would leave. Only a salt and ketchup smile remaining at the table which she had sat. She also remembered the times she’d spent there with her beloved Sid. She pressed her face to the diner window, hand held above her eyes to shield them from the stinging glare which reflected off the smeared glass. It looked just as it always had. It was as if it could have been four years ago, and for a moment, she revelled in the thought. Her favourite memory flooded her mind, the kiss she and her Sydney had shared here. It wasn’t their first kiss, but it was her favourite.

She scanned the room, her target being the table at which her cherished memory occurred but as she reached her destination her eyes landed upon a face. That face. That face which made her heart begin to pound. What was he doing here? He wasn’t supposed to be here… She panicked. But only briefly, as those thoughts were wiped blank when she saw . Saw that face that she had loved so much, lean over, and saw those lips, those soft pink lips, kiss another’s that were not her own. And in that instant, her pounding heart broke into a million tiny shards which pierced and stung her whole chest and left her breathless.

Magna Kingdom Conquest Complete Gareth Wells

Kingdom Conquest Summary:

Kingdom conquest is a game where you play as an adventurer building a kingdom to conquer the monster world of magna. The players objective is to make allies and conquer 7 Debris towers to become king of the world so to speak. The game can take months to complete and will is full of exciting engagements combat and negotiation with other players like politics. The scenery is medieval fantasy. It's also illustrated in an anime style as it was developed by Sega.

The Alliance needs a lord.

After many battles with adventurers and Enemy alliance Lords the predator alliance became very large and soon it became apparent that Lord John needed an aide to govern them. He sat on his throne and pondered in his large stone castle. “There needs to be a way to choose from my most active alliance members to be my aide. If I fail, coordinating attacks and support amongst our people could be haphazard and inefficient. This may get my alliance swallowed whole by another and all my work will perish”.

Lord Consolex a travelling conqueror from the far allied lands was making a visit to the kingdom for lithium crystals a fuel for dark magic. He was not a favorite to the alliance lord. He dabbled in dark magic and conquered lands with undead zombies and demons not beasts or men as Lord John did. None the less they fought for the same cause to unite all the alliances and capture all the towers. LordJohn rose from his throne and made haste to the market to seek what advice a dark lord could offer. Not because he was out of options he just wanted another’s opinion on how to keep their alliance stable.

Lord John is a burly, robed beast user with a big beard. His Gold plated armor werewolf bodyguards stationed at the castle marched behind him as he went for a short walk into his coble stoned imperial city. Not by horse. Beast users only ride mounts into battle. Lord John arrived at the market. He spotted Lord Consolex hitching his flying demon mount outside an old rundown building with the sign “Demonkillers wonder emporium of Darkmagic”. "Good Day Fellow Lord” he shouted. Lord Consolex wore black gothic knight’s armor with a long crimson cape that nipped around his calves. The cape bore the insignia of The Predators, a large dragon consuming a castle in flames. Underneath it is a smaller insignia one of a skull with ruby eyes. This insignia is worn only by those who can use dark magic.

Consolex turned his head and returned to hitching the mount before walking over to Lord John. “Good day” he said not in the typical hissing voice that you would expect from a dark lord but in a cheery british accent.

“What can I do for you Lord John?”

“Well” Lord John shuffled his robes. "I wanted to ask you for your opinion on choosing an aide for the Alliance what say you?

“Hmm” Consolex pondered for a moment “Well the logical thing to do is to split governance depending on region. For example the western region will have a leader typically the strongest presence in that region and he will look after those in his domain and so forth. This will create a hierarchy to you and will improve effectiveness in coordinating alliances for War”

"That’s a great idea!” Lord John squealed in glee.

“However” Lord Consolex raised his finger. "I propose a game for the leading strongest members to determine who your direct aide becomes”

Lord John was baffled. “What kind of game are you proposing?” Consolex scratched his nose and sniffed “Well it’s it a simple game….”

“For this Game let’s select three of our top candidate lords. The first being Lord Demonkiller the owner of this wonderful emporium. Consolex pointed to the sign. "The next is Lord Deathbro and Skullbombs."

“These lords have unusually similar interests to you Lord Consolex” Lord John Chuckled.

“Well they are all your best alliance members bar me. It seems the dark arts favor your endeavor. The game is called skull rush. The game is to secure as many Lower Alliances in 1 year of campaigning. Whoever has conquered the most will become your aide.”

“Well that is a long time to wait for an aide good lord. I cannot wait that long when the kingdom needs an aide soon." Lord John grumbled. The large werewolf’s behind shuffled in their clanking armor in agreement.

Lord Consolex went back to pondering.

“Ahah I know! How about we get the candidates together and play extreme Rock, paper scissors?!! "

Lord John stroked his beard and replied “Lame”

“No seriously this is a famous game in the wilderness lands for resolving tribal conflicts. This is how it is played. First we take the three candidates and strip them to their undergarments and rub tribal paint on their faces. Second we put them together and they have a battle royal in rock paper scissors. The loser gets struck unconscious from a large burly man if I remember correctly. Ah we can use one of your werewolves? The biggest one you can find. The last man standing wins." Consolex grinned.

Lord John skipped a loose stone on the foot path with with his foot and sighed deeply. “Well at this point I’m willing to give this a go. Very well we will summon the candidate alliance lords for extreme rock paper and scissors. “

3 days later…. The Alliance lords were summoned to the Lord John's Kingdom.

The alliances lords arrived and were placed into the middle of the market square where onlookers good bid audience to the alliance lord’s game of natural selection.

Lord Consolex and John watched from two large thrones and were pampered by Lord John’s servants. A large werewolf with ripped muscles and nothing but a loin cloth towered 3 feet over the three candidates grinning with anticipation to hurt something.

The three candidates stood there poised at the ready, When Consolex mentioned what they were doing none protested as this was their chance to best the alliance.

The air was hot the sun was sweltering. The crowd of onlookers were silent. The warewolf was grinning and baring sharp stained teeth. The game was ready to begin.

Lord John twirled his finger in the air and shouted“ Ready!... Start!”

The candidates chanted “Rock paper…. Scissors! ” Skullbombs went scissors and the other two tied with rock. Skullbombs knowing he had lost glanced up nervously at the drooling beast before he was knocked 6 meters into a wooing crowd of spectators’… unconscious. The two remaining contestants gulped.

Lord John chirped “Waho boy do I love this game now! No draws from now just sudden death.” Lord Consolex was about to say “we have to have one winner.. " before being abruptly interrupted with “Ready!.. Start!”

The two candidates chanted "Rock, Paper….." The crowd echoed their chant. "Scissors!" The two both chose Paper and the Beast of the werewolf laughing wildly double punched them into the spectators.

“Woops” Lord John said scratching his head. "I should have thought that one through. Balderdash Consolex I make you alliance aide. Anyone who makes games this good wins my favor."

Consolex felt mixed and that this day went pleasantly well for him. He smiled and replied

“ Yes my lord”.

The Wonder Boy draft

In winter of 1930s in a small town far away from the busy cities there lived a family. An ordinary and simple family living in a time of hardship and living off the land. John was a farmer and the father of two children, married to Joanna his wife and childhood sweetheart. Mollie was the faithful and loyal dog.

Every morning without fail, seven days a week John would walk many miles from the house with his horse and cart and Mollie his loyal companion by his side. His wife every day would prepare breakfast for him and the children and often she would have to take John his lunch as he was always more concerned that the children had eaten.

As usual Sam could hear his mother calling him. “Come on Sam, get up its time for school” said his mother. Sam lay a little longer in bed and thought school was the last place he really wanted hurry up and go to.

Sam is twelve years old and attends the local community school with his sister Sara. She was two years younger than Sam and always looked up and admired her big brother, most of all because Sam possessed something special that no one else knew about except her and her parents.

There had always been something special between Sam and his mother. A bond and a way of speaking with one another without words.

There is a distance between home and the school they go to. One day on the way Sam and his sister meet another boy his name is Mathew.

On the way Sam suddenly stopped walking then his sister and Mathew slowed down and wondering why he stopped. As they looked up at the sky they saw dark clouds swirling above Sam is head.

“What’s happening Sara” yelled Mathew as he was feeling scared and shocked at what he was seeing.

“Don’t worry just be quiet” said Sara. This was not the first time Sara had seen something like this happening to her brother. She knew that her brother was extra ordinary kid and had super natural powers.

After short time the cloud disappeared from around Sam. “What happened Sara” said Mathew. “Don’t talk about it to anyone” said Sara. They kept walking to school as though nothing had happen.

At school Sam would spend most of his free time alone and away from the other kids. Even though he was doing well at school he didn’t want to be there. Sam had the ability to control the natural elements of nature. These being air, water, fire and earth. For him being at school only meant that he had to hide his power even when he was being bullied.
Charlie was known as a bully and angry kid amongst other kids. Every day he would pick on Sam by annoying him and calling him “the wonder boy”. Charlie was saying that because Sam was always setting alone and never playing with the others.

It was a terrible stormy weather when Joanna who was pregnant with Sam and was walking to take lunch to her husband working in the fields. Suddenly she found herself surrounded by swirling wind and dark clouds forming around her head. She heard a voice telling her that her baby when born will possess the power to control the elements of nature and was chosen to help mankind.

One day at school Charlie was picking on another kid by calling him names and pushed him down to the ground. Sam who was watching couldn’t sit and do nothing any longer. He stood up and yelled “stop Charlie”. Charlie looked at Sam and laughed saying, “what are you going to do about it?”

Sam didn’t say anything, but the ground beneath Charlie started to shake and vibrate like an earthquake and he fell to the ground. This was the first time that Sam had intervened and used his powers to show Charlie that he could hurt him badly if he continued doing this to others. Sam was disappointed that he had used his powers in this way. His mother had always taught him to only use his gift for the benefit of others, to protect them and not cause harm.

Sam ran quickly to the place he always goes to, to be by himself and to be alone. This place was very special to him since he was first taken there as a child by his mother.
Hidden in a mountain not far from his home was this place, a cave. In this place, a river flowed from a waterfall and he would regain his energy and his spirit would be lifted by listening to the wind.

The Karate Kid

This movie is yet another simillar themed Karate Kid movie that have been produced since the 1980s. The plot of this story is set with a young boy new in town from Detroit, USA moving to Beijing, China who is being bullied and beaten by the local children. As with the other movies he finds an older man who happens to be a Kung Fu master grieving from the death of his wife and child. This story again like the others portrays the friendship which devoleps and the changes to their lives.

Even thou the story line is predictable I really enjoy these movies including this one because the movies contain strong messages and role models about learning to respect, trust and love oneself and others. It is through the learning and mastering the martial art of Kung Fu that we can believe no matter where we go and where we live and no matter what the age difference, there is always a solution to a problem.

I recomend this movie to different age groups if they are looking for inspration about the journy of life.

Naruto and Hinata

I will love you no matter what:

This is the third review I have done on Naruto. This story takes the characters out of their ninja world and puts them in a high school environment. Naruto finds a mysterious girl locked in the backroom of the High School. The girl is Hinata, She is locked in this room for being too much of a danger in the outside world. Naruto communicates with her by sliding a note under the door. Hinata responds and is the beginning of their love story.

The Author chose good subject matter and their fan fiction became popular. However, I find it hard to grasp who is talking when there is Dialogue. I often have to back track over the sentence again to understand it. The author could make this better by spelling out who is talking when it is not obvious.

Resident Evil Romance

Resident Evil 4

Leon is hired as a bodyguard to protect Ashley (The Presidents Daughter). Leon is an ex veteran from the zombie outbreak in Racoon City. While trasporting her they are attacked by parasitical mind controlled human corpses when traveling through a abandoned village. They want to infect Ashley so they can get her to infect the president when she returns to Washington. Leon fights for his and her life in an epic struggle to escape these strange creatures.

Resident Evil Leon and Ashley:

This story takes a scene where Leon and Ashley are hiding out in a abandoned room in a castle. Leon can't stop thinking of Ashley and falls in love with her. Ashley falls in love with Leon and they both fight their thoughts to embrace each other. The Writer illustrates the feelings of love perfectly.

"Are you going to lie down?" she asked innocently and her voice was almost musical. That's when it hit him. Like a punch in the stomach. A pleasurable punch. "I…uh...uh...I…" He was speechless. Shots of pleasure danced in his veins causing him to bite his lip so he wouldn't yip with excitement. "Well?" "I…well ok." He agreed.

A couple of spelling mistakes here and there but other than that this was my favorite fan fiction. I only wished this writer did more.

Left 4 Dead + Dead Rising Cross over:

Left 4 Rising

Left 4 dead is a about a group of survivors who have to fight to escape a Zombie infested city. Dead Rising is about a reporter Frank who is dropped into a Zombie invested Mall for three days. He fights psychopaths and saves survivors to uncover the Truth of the outbreak.

This story takes place on the first stage of Left 4 Dead where the survivors are stranded on the top of a building and need to get to Mercy Hospital for a Rescue Helicopter. The characters introduce themselves and say their usual one liner before continuing the level. The Story is a good idea. The writer could have written more and it was hard to read as he did not put his writing into paragraphs.

EDITED DRAFT (now complete)

Relishing in her small moment of freedom, Bella decided to partake in one of her favourite pastimes - people watching. Noticing the small park bench a few metres away she casually strolled over, briefly soaking up her surroundings.

There were the usual carnivorous single moms desperately vying for the attention of the newly divorced yet doting father and she swore she heard an utterance of 'mmmmm fresh meat'. Shuddering, Bella turned her attention elsewhere to the small sandbox. In particular, the small blonde haired girl pulling the hand of a cute dark haired boy. Smiling in content, Bella remembered the ease of life at that age. One shy toothless grin with an offering of a lollipop and he was smitten with you.

"Bella! I knew I'd find you here, I cant believe you just left me back there with those guys" Alice complained.

"Really Ali? It was hard to notice your discomfort with the amount of drool you oozed" Bella quipped. "Besides, it was near puke-inducing to watch you hang off his arm like that. You might as well have humped his leg"

"Oh pleeease. I wasn't that bad, you on the other hand took off like a bat out of hell. I'm surprised you didn't just blow your rape whistle"

Bella couldn't help but smirk. "Now that's what I want to see, a smile on your otherwise permanently sullen face" Alice noted.

"Yeah, yeah" she chortled, "Although it is a little concerning when your best friend who happens to be lesbian, and in a committed relationship decides to throw herself at the first muscled pork sword she sees"

"Once again your dysphemism astounds me. You know Bella, if you keep this up your going to die alone with nothing but your Titanic DVD to even remotely show your interest in the opposite sex."

"To be honest I'm actually entertaining the idea of a crazy cat lady"

"Seriously Bella stop, I'm trying to get you back out there. In fact, Iv even gone to the lengths of setting you up on a date for tonight. AND before you even start, no you're not pulling out, no I'm not telling you who it is and no way in hell are you dressing yourself up for tonight".

Alice beamed at Bella's grim expression. She was quite proud of herself actually, despite the anonymity of her chosen suitor. She wasn't going to mention that she had found the him on a dating website. His profile deemed him as safe, more importantly a possibility. Charles was from a small town, favoured quiet nights in over intoxicated fun and was the chief of something big but not important enough for her to remember the details. He was essentially the male embodiment of one Isabella Swan. Perfect. Snapping out of her small reverie, Ali noticed Bella's death glares. If only looks could kill.

"I'm not apologising for this Bella. This is the only time I'll ever do this, I swear. Now come on, let's go shopping for something slutty" she winked suggestively. Still scowling, Bella picked herself up off the bench and dragged her scuffed soles behind Alice's skipping form.

_____

4 hours later, they were holed up in Alice's apartment in preparation for Bella's big night. Rosalie had just arrived home to find her living room full of scattered shopping bags, strewn clothing, mismatched heels and an assortment of make up packaging on the floor. Signs she knew that Alice was playing Bella Barbie again. Making her way towards the bedroom, Bella was relentless in her protest at Ali's selection of garments.

"I can't wear this out Alice, its not even decent!"

"The whole point of this date is to get you laid"

"I thought this was about getting me back out in the dating scene"

"Well that too, but why not make the most of it?"

Chuckling, Rose decided to make herself known. "Ali sweetie, I love you, but if you let Bella leave like that I may have to get back on the dating scene"

Blushing, Bella found herself flattered. "Hey Rose, really think so?"

"Oh yeah. You'll take compliments from the blonde bombshell but not the one who slaved away for hours making you impeccable. Thanks." Alice ruefully mentioned.

"Okay, okay, I Bella Swan bestow my utmost appreciation in the toils of your labour to make thee ravishing"

Poking her tongue at Bella, "You're welcome. Now lets get your tush out the door, you're meeting your date in about an hour and the restaurant is on the other side of town. Your reservation is under Charles and don't forget to thank me tomorrow morning"

________

Pulling into the restaurant, Bella hopped out of the car and passed her keys to the valet. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down she slowly walked towards to the maitre d' and told him her reservation. Smiling, he led her to the other side of the restaurant where Bella quickly caught a glance at who her date was. Her face paled at what she saw quickly replaced by anger. Storming out of the restaurant, Bella began planning. "Oh Alice is definitely going to get thanked tomorrow morning" she muttered to herself.

Sitting at the table waiting for her, was Charlie. Her father.

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 dead is a about a group of survivors who have to fight to escape a Zombie infested city. They all have different backgrounds from a Redneck to a high school coach.

Soul Eater and Left 4 dead crossover:

The story is about a group of characters imported from Soul Eater into the Left 4 dead game. In the story a new special infected is created and the characters have to work together to defeat it. The special infected turns out to be the girlfriend of “Kid” The women is called Croana ( Plot twist for this crossover). The story was quite hard to follow because the writer made heavy use of and, and, and. Writer had spelling mistakes in every paragraph. He did improve though through the later chapters. The story could grab me very well because the writer made zombies talk which takes the survivor horror out of mindless zombie hordes.

The Prince of Egypt

This animated movie depicts the biblical story of Moses. Pharaoh Seti commands all male Hebrew babies to be drowned. A desperate mother places her son in a basket and lets the Hebrew god guide it along its way on the river. The basket is found by the Queen, and Moses is brought up as a brother to the heir of the throne, Ramses. Years later, the brothers, who grew up happily and wealthy, are split by Moses' recognition of his true heritage and the suppressing system his brother is about to inherit, willing to carry it on. Fleeing from the city in despair, Moses finds himself being called by God. He is given the task of being the messenger in order to free the Hebrews and to lead them into a country they will prosper.

To be able to understand this fanfic story you need to have read or understanding about bible stories or hebrew or christian teachings

Lacey's Draft #1

DRAFT
This is only a draft of the beginning concepts for my fanfic. At the moment it is too long and doesn't quite reach the point of where I want it to within the 800 word limit as I got a bit carried away so in my next draft I will be cutting a lot of parts out and changing the plot to get to where I want it to quicker. Currently there is no dialogue because I stopped writing after I realised I'd surpassed the word limit but after editing there will definitely be more dialogue and interaction with new characters in the second draft.

This fanfic is based on the TV series "Skins". It continues on from the end of the season 2 finale, set four years in the future and focuses around the character of Cassie returning home to the people she left behind.

Her heels of ruby red clacked melodically as she strode down the concrete sidewalk, light as always, as though her small frame had been caught in one of the mid autumn gusts which whirled about the streets, and rustled softly through the golden trees. It had been a long time since she had walked these familiar roads, years in fact, and yet everything seemed to be just as she had left it. The old brick houses, the dreary British sky above, and to her left, the store from which she remembered so long ago cheekily stealing a scarf which she had quite fancied.

Why had he not wanted her, what was wrong with her? was she not pretty enough? not as pretty as Michelle? She was definitely thinner, that much gave her some satisfaction. She'd beat Michelle at that at least. She never did understand it, it's not like Michelle had wanted him back anyway, why didn't he see that, why didn't he see how much SHE wanted him. NEEDED him. Her head became flustered. Why was she thinking of this again?. After all these years, after all the distance she'd put between them so as to forget the boy who broke her heart, it seemed as though coming back home meant coming back to heartache.

She shook her head, long wavy tresses of gold tousled about her shoulders as she did so and fell still about her face. She looked into a shop window as she passed., her reflection looking back at her. She hadn't changed much she supposed. Her hair was still the same blonde if only slightly longer and slightly more wild. She couldn't help but wonder what had became of them all. Where they were now, what they had become. Especially him.

The small brick house stood just as it always had on a street that looked all too much like it had the last time she had stood here. She simply stared for a while, the feeling of home felt so surreal. Her mind flooded with thoughts of her parents. Her childhood. Her baby brother and how much she loved him. Her bedroom. The mirror which hang on her wall and all the times she would look into it and hate herself. Her mind swirled erratically. The good memories and the bad bleeding into one big mess until she could not remember if she was ever truly happy here. Why had she come back to a place she could not ever remember being happy in, at least not for a long time anyway.

She stood in a daze, her big brown eyes staring blankly at the house before her, she could not will herself to venture any closer. This is not what she thought it would feel like. This is not how she thought it would be. She had imagined it a million times. Her tiny fists knocking on the green painted door. The door swinging open to reveal the face of her mother, then her father, then little Reuben would appear. He would be able to walk now. They would all be shocked at first, trying to comprehend wether or not it was really their long lost Cassie who had returned to them. Then they would cry. And she would hug them, and they would hug her back then they'd all smile and cry and laugh together and everyone would be so happy that she was back. But she couldn't. She just couldn't. For the first time since she had decided to come back to Bristol she thought that that might not be how it would go. Maybe they wouldn't cry. Maybe they wouldn't hug her, or be happy. Maybe they'd be upset, or angry or perhaps...perhaps they wouldn't even care.

As the realisation hit her she suddenly felt ill. She dropped the brown leather suitcase which her right fist had been clutching dearly and it landed with a thud at her side before tipping itself over onto the cobblestones. She felt cold, but not from the wind. From the loneliness that ripped at her being, slithered its way through her pumping veins, and tore at her pounding heart.

The Medallion

As the case unfolds the boy, the detective and the crminal become involved in the connected triangle which result in the detective becoming a immortal and the holder of the medallion.

The last airbender

This story talks about a young boy who was chosen to be an (Avater) or the giveted leader who could bring peace to the world of nations. These being the earth nation, the water nation, and the fire nation who was trying to dominate the others. the young boy was the last survivor of the poeple of the air nation.

He had trained to be the master who can bring the peace because he possessed the skills of controlling all the elements of the other nations.

Even though he knew that he can do all that but still he didn't want that responsibility as he just wanted to be a normal young boy and have a live like others his age.

GTO

GTO is about a man called Onizuka who wants to become the best teacher in the world. His gangster background versus mischievous students created a successful short series which ended up being made into a live action film.

Fundraiser: Review

It’s a short scene between the Vice Principle Uchiyamada and Principle Sakurai. They find out the school is going bankrupt and no longer funded. To stop the school from going bankrupt they turn to a Crazy Rich man who offers help. However to prove themselves the school must show that the students can work together to save their school by fundraising 30 million yen by the end of the month. This story is a great setup for the real GTO. I think the writer makes the readers want more with a decent first chapter. However I regret to say he never continued the novel despite the good feedback. He could have left some of the Japanese pop references out as they were incorrect with the timeline. This was written 5 years after the actual series so It would of paid off if this writer did some research about pop in 1999.

Bleach Cross Over with Jackie Chan

Bleach is about people with spirtual powers who can see the dead. They are called shinigami and protect the world by exercising them and defeating bad spirits (Hollows). The main character is Ichigo a young 15 year old shinigami.

This is a story with Ichigo and his family in San Francisco. They go to a talisman store in what I am assuming is china town and find a mysterious medallion with no purpose. The writer makes conflicting references as to where they are. He refers to them being in china and also San Francisco. There is no goal for the characters. I could only grasp that they were on Holiday. The character Jackie Chan is not introduced properly he just seems to appear and everyone knows him as Uncle Jackie.
The chapter goes from a scene in a medallion store, to bad guys almost kidnapping Ichigo’s sister in an alley way to an amusement park scene. It’s hard to get what’s going on. Perhaps these are extra scenes that may need to be inserted into an existing Jackie Chan movie that the readers must know about beforehand. The writer is excellent at illustrating a picture of what the characters are doing so it seems off that this story is in pieces.

Courtenay's Reviews

Vampire Academy - Novel
Adrian's Love - Romance/Fantasy

Similar to twilight in terms of vampiric fluff, this is a fast paced plot line about Adrian and Rose Hathaway's relationship. At times the story seems jumbled and confusing at times with the mentioning of new characters every few chapters. The story leaps from event to event which i found distracting from an otherwise light-hearted, swooning tween piece about a girl trying to decide who her heart will belong to. What started out as a romance/fantasy genre, it abruptly turned into a disappointing lackluster action story thereby eliminating any interest in this writers story (well in my case anyway). In the end, I just didnt have the heart nor the motivation to finish the story.

Harry Potter
One Single Rose - Romance/Drama

This story focuses on Hermione Granger and her search for love with her best friend Ginny. Both have a non existent love life after Hermione walked in on Ron's cheating love romp whilst Ginny walked out on a marriage to Potter. As a result Harry is now regularly seen out and about with new girls on his arms. A work still in progress, this plot is driven by female emotion and the search for 'the one'. Although seemingly predictive at times, this is written with good intention and I found it interesting to depict Ron as a love-rat and Harry on the rebound. Overall this piece could use a little more originality but it is nice to see a story with Hermione as the protagonist.

Twilight - Novel
Last Kiss - Tragedy

Okay not gonna lie, this one got a tear out of me. (only one though :P). Last Kiss centers this tragic one-shot love story around Jasper and Bella as humans. Starting out as an 'awww' moment with Jaspers intention to marry Bella, the writer builds up the moment of proposal effectively without crossing into fluff territory. However instead of ending up with the normal gushy happily ever afters, Jasper swerves off the road and crashes foreshadowing a gloomy end for the couple. Taking advantage of the accident climax, Jasper whispers his proposal to Bella hearing her yes right before her untimely death which does seem a little cliche but still gets a pass from me.

Drop Dead Diva - TV Show
A Forbidden Love

Recent hit in television land, this Drop Dead Diva fic brings Jane/Deb and Fred together. Fred is Jane's human embodiment of a guardian angel and has fallen in love with her. The only problem is Jane is still in love with her past life's husband (Grayson) and it is also strictly forbidden for any servant of God to be involved with a human. This cute little one-shot allows Fred to take on a more dominant role unlike the tv series and also highlights Jane's slow transformation from a shallow socialite to a conscientious worker. Told from a 3rd person narrative, this short story does have the potential to be developed into a longer story but can be appropriately left in its adequate OS form.

Friends - TV Show
I Want You To Live - Tragedy

This is a songfic based off George Canyon - I Want You To Live in an AU setting for Friends. Chandler is enlisted and deployed in afghanistan, leaving Monica at home with their twin 4year old kids, Jack and Erica. Distraught with worry, Monica frequently watched the evening news with the hope that her husband was still unharmed until the story of a suicide bomber resulting in 2 soldiers deaths appear - one being Chandler. This fanfiction was extremely well written and I particularly enjoyed the recurring verse Monica used as a sort of mantra to get through. It is naturally sad but with a peaceful ending making this a memorable story.

Love Actually - Movie
Not Carol SIngers - Hurt/Comfort/Romance

An interesting idea and concept in following through the after moments when Juliet kisses Mark (her husband's, Peter, best friend). In the movie we just assume that Mark carries on admiring Juliet from afar and lets her live her life with Peter. The twist in this OS tale reveals the what-ifs in our mind. What if Peter knew it was Mark at the door and not carol singers? What if Peter saw Juliet kiss Mark? This is a great play on this idea and is effectively used to its advantage leaving the reader wanting more than what is written. Great story.

Lion King - Movie
What Started Out Good - Hurt/Comfort

Basically the authors take on what made Scar so evil in the Lion King. Here we see how the two cubs (Scar and Mufasa) grew up together yet were treated differently by their father Ahadi. From Scar's birth he was immediately neglected and abused despite the pleads of his queen Uru. Even the name given to Scar showed Ahadi's disdain - Taka meaning trash. A story still in progress, the writer gives a thoughtful insight into Scars background and how he came to have his hyena accomplices. Its a nice change from the usual hero POV you get in the movie and I cant wait to see how the rest of the story plans out.

Toy Story - Movie
Ferocious - Humour

Rex must decide once and for all if he's going to be a scary dinosaur or a nice dinosaur. With his numerous futile attempts at scaring the other toys, Jessie decides to persuade Rex into thinking that a scary dinosaur isnt all that great after all. Her solution? Watching Jurrasic Park. This is a cleverly written piece with suspense building through the whole story and amazing comedic timing which I think summed up Rex accurately as a character.

"You see? That's what scary dinosaurs are really like," she said. "Now do ya really wannabe like that?"

... Finally, Rex fixed his eyes on her instead of the screen. "That poor goat," he said in horror.

The Simpsons - Cartoon
The Way We Never Should - Romance/Drama

Its prom night, where the love between Homer and Marge first began. But what if Marge fell for Artie Ziff instead? What if Homer never got a chance to fix things between him and Marge? In this fic, both lead very different lives with Marge leaving with Artie and Homer leaving with Barney to work for Moe in a beach bar/restaurant. With many more chapters to come, we see the new life of Homer unravel with his desperate search for love. The writer seamlessly introduces new characters and allows each character to explore new traits whilst retaining hints of their normal persona we have come to know and love. I'm rather fond of the way Homer is portrayed here, we see more of his vulnerable goofy side which is far more endearing than his drunk, yet hilarious antics.

Hey Arnold - Cartoon
Blind Date - Romance/Drama

Arnold and Helga are set up on a blind date by their best friends in an attempt to get them out of their depression. After not speaking to each other for two years, old wounds are reopened and secrets are revealed on a night neither will forget. Despite being set in high school, not much is discussed about what they get up to there. There are frequent flashbacks tied into the plot line revealing why Helga and Arnold are torn, but their appearances are confusing and at times unsettling. I think their break down could have been explained better and appearances by a few more characters wouldn't have hurt. The highlight of this story I found, was Phoebe finally eradicating the creepy monobrow Helga groomed on her face.

Full Metal Panic

This story is about a trained soldier "Sasuke" that has to live a normal highschool life and protect a high profile character "kaname Chidori"Kaname is a energetic girl who holds the key to advance technology which makes her a prime target for terrorists. The story is humerous because Sasuke is a bit of a Robot and goes to creative extremes to carry out his mission which create awkward situations. For example he chases down a peeping Tom with guns blazing. Kaname knows his secret and is always trying to keep him in check. This makes you wonder who is looking after who?

Haircut: Review

There is a clip in the story where Sasuke has to get a hair cut. He thinks the hairdresser is an assasin trying to kill him with a pair of scissors and is soon stopped by Kaname before he does anything reckless.

The Author loved this clip and added an extra story where they are both sleeping in the same room after his Haircut. Kaname finds Sasuke irresistable with his new haircut and leans in to kiss him. They connect where she soons finds out what she is doing and dunks his head in a sink to wash his hair. "This sounds crazy" However you really get the feel that in this skit, that is what the characters would really do. The writing style is fairly straight foward. Here is a snap from the story. "Kaname swallowed nervously, her heart racing, her cheeks burning. She licked her lips, wondering if they were dry."

Good way to describe Kaname before going in for a kiss. It's typical of Japanese anime to show the characters heart racing, nervous swallowing and blushing cheeks before any kiss. The writer had a good skit here. The story would have been much better if he/she worte about the characters the morning after the incident and the awkwardness between them.

Naruto

This is about a new character inserted into the series Dobe who is a Devil. Devils look like humans and his identity is secret from the other characters. His character has a relationship with one of the characters in the story "Sakura" a Pink haired ninja from team 7 in the original story.

This story is really good. The first thing that this author does that has seperated him from the rest is describe scenary and thoughts of his character. The background of the character is interesting. Dobe is afraid that once Sakura finds out that he is a Devil she may repulse him which puts his character in great distress. His character is Royal and is hunted from other Devils for leaving the realm he came from. Sounds great for a plot doesn't it? I give this review extra marks for coming up with a new inovative story that fits into the original perfectly. Here is a clip from the story that illustrates the level of writing skill this Author has

"The Devil insisted that he was not the murderer although to no avail. They tied him to a wooden pole and placed him on top of a blazing fire, not knowing that he was an immortal. Upset and furious, the Devil untied himself without even moving and casted a spell on the village that for the next 100 years, anyone who were pregnant with kids, both the Mother and Child would die.

One Piece

One Piece Summary:

One piece is about a strawhead pirate Luffy who wants to become the king of pirates and find one piece a treasure left from the Dead pirate lord Gold D Roger. He collects Friends along the way who join his Pirate Crew. There are more than 400 episodes and the series is only Half way!

This fanfiction is written by bluewolf65. It's a special finctional episode based on the main character Luffy and it's his birthday. Luffy is really excited it is his birthday 5th of May (childrens day Japan) and he soon let down that none of his nakama (comrades) have remembered. The truth is they have remembered and they give him a special surprise party at the end. (assuming) The Writer did not finish the last chapter.
This story is really good. The author has illustrated the original character relationships well so you can imagine the actual character while reading this story. For example two characters Zoro and Sanji are always bickering as rivals and I found it very funny when he included "shut up you stupid cook" who is sanji and "moss head" who is Zoro because of hair color. These are curse names that the characters always shout at each other in the story. I can see why this story was highly rated. I watch this story in Japanese so if I had to take brownie points it would be how unnatrual the conversations sound in english. Though if it were in Japanese it would be spot on.

Naruto

Naruto Review:

Naruto is a story about a Ninja who wants to be the Hokage or leader of his Ninja Village. The story focuses on the journey to get there and keeps audiences entertained with new characters and his adventures. There are more than 400 episodes in the series and 9 movies. The story is not close to finishing yet.

Is a fan fiction written by inuyasharules6596. It includes a extra charater called sora into the story as Itachi and Sasukes little sister. The character is not raised in the main village where the Naruto story is but in the sand village which is the domain of a character called garra the kazekage (leaders) son. It takes a saga from the original story and inserts this extra character into it.

The character Sora I believe is a reflection of the author because the only thing that changes in this story are the characters sexual orientation. She creates a sexual relationship between her fictional character and garra. She also makes the character Naruto and her Character's brother Sasuke gay lovers. She actually makes all male characters gay except garra. The time she based it in makes the characters 12 years old.

Naruto fans are the only ones I believe can follow this story. The writer should put more effort into describing sceanary that is not included in the story so readers can follow. For example the house she grew up in. The restaurant she ate at. Her trainers gay lover for example.

Lacey's Reviews

Donnie Darko

"Watership Down"

This fanfic shows a short encounter between the main character Donnie, a misunderstood, medicated teenage boy who sees vision of the end of the world, and the character of Frank, a human-sized demonic bunny and apparent figment of Donnie's imagination. The passage describes a conversation between the two which is not shown in the movie, however I feel as though it easily could have been as the writer has done an impressive job of capturing the mood of the movie as well as the personality and relationship between these two characters. The voice of Donnie definitely is seen in this piece. His demeanor and language are quite true to that of the character especially in the way the writer shows his darker, cynical, misunderstood attitude towards life as in the quote "Donnie's lips twisted into a grin, but he didn't smile.", and also Donnie's unconventional description of the book "Watership Down". Frank's strange, sadistic persona I feel is also seen in this fanfic. His sarcasm and the on-edge, uneasy way he makes Donnie feel is shown well. Overall I think this fanfic stayed true to the genre of the original movie and was very in character and believable as a part of the original storyline.

The Tomorrow Series

"Decision"

This authors piece shows the perspective of a character from which you do not usually see their point of view. It's written from the eyes of Homer, bestfriend of the main character Ellie. I find it to be an interesting interpretation of his view on the war in which they are trapped in and of his friends that he shares it with. I think the writer channeled his voice well and did a good job of keeping in character even when exploring a deeper side of Homer's emotions which he does not often share out loud in the book series. The development into his feelings and relationships are believable to his characters personality and overall I think the piece is written well in a tone similar to that of John Marsden, the original author of "The Tomorrow Series".

Misfits

"Thunder and Lightning"

The fanfic used the already established plot line of the "Misfits" series but introduced a new character, as what I am assuming to be a new love interest for the character of Nathan. It recounts events from the first episode with the new character incorporated. I do not however feel as though she was fit in well and seemed at times a bit out of place. The writing was okay but I feel lacked description or feeling. The lack of description lead it to seem rather dull and hard to connect with. Although the writer made a fair attempt at staying true to the individual personalities of the characters, the dialogue felt a but unnatural for them and slightly out of character. Overall I think a lot of the writing "told" rather then "showed" what was happening, sounding more like a narration of the character's actions then a descriptive piece. I think improving on this and creating more imagery would have made the story a lot more captivating as the plot has potential to build on the already set storyline of the series and have the added aspects of a new character and potential love interest.

Skins (Season 1)

"Unoticed"

This fanfic depicts the inner thoughts of one of the eight main characters, Cassie. It describes what the writer believes she would have been feeling and thinking during this scene from the series. The author of this emulates Cassie's personality well, mimicking her odd speech and thoughts. A lot of her well known inner turmoil surrounding her feelings for her on-off love interest Sid, and eating disorder, are explored in a very realistic and believable way for her character. This is done equally as well from Sid's perspective. It gives a very true to character exploration of his feelings for both Cassie, who he is often neglectful of, and his bestfriends girlfriend Michelle. Overall I think the writer did a very good job of keeping to genre and making the piece fit in well with the original context and mood of the actual scene. I enjoyed the use of descriptive language, particularly in the way it so accurately described Cassie and all her oddities.

Skins (Season 4)

"The Inbetween Places"

This story is taken from the perspective of one of the main characters, Cook, and takes place after the finale of this season of the series. It continues on from where the series finished and goes on to describe the way in which this writer believes the characters would have reacted to the final events. It is written all from Cook's perspective, which is appropriate as it focuses on how he and his friends cope with the death of his bestfriend Freddy. I think that by writing it from his point of view it allows this piece to be a lot more personal and emotional then it would have been from a different persons view or from multiple characters' views given the close relationship of the two. The plot is very believable and the way the characters interact with each other is very accurate to how they do so in the series. The dialogue as well, which is often hard to emulate in the voice of the character, was done well and I liked the authenticity of it. The whole thing felt like it really was being told through Cook's mind. I also found it to be extremely well written and had a real sense of emotion. The structure was also interesting with the constant changing of time and scene, giving you brief insights into his thoughts and emotions as they progressed slowly over time and showing rather then telling the amount of time that has passed.

Fallen

"Yeah, Princess?"

Based on the book "Fallen", a story of romance between a human girl and fallen angel, this fanfiction explores the relationship between the main characters of Luce and fallen angel Cam. Even though this relationship is briefly shown in the the book itself, it does not develop very far and is seen to be rather unrequited love on Cam's part. Instead Luce develops a deeper relationship with another angel, Daniel, whom has a great distaste towards Cam for fear his dark nature will harm Luce. In the fanfiction however the relationship between Luce and Cam is rekindled and put more favourably over that of the canon pairing of Luce and Daniel. I find the way that Cam and Daniel interact in the fic to be believable in the way that they are very untrusting of one another, however sometimes seems slightly underplayed based on the tension they shared and the scale of the events which happened between the two in the book. The writing style flowed well and was easy to read however the deterioration of the former relationship and developed tension could have been better explored I think. I personally enjoyed the idea of the relationship in this fic and think it was developed well, the writer did not try to force it to quickly in a way that would seem out of character for Luce who is still confused about how she feels about both Cam and Luce. I feel the way the writer portrays Cam as cocky and very competitive with Daniel reflects his personality and his desire to win Luce away from him, similar to the way he does in the book. I think it lacked a little in description making it hard to create images of the scenarios in my mind and making some parts of the story seem a little basic and rushed.

Harry Potter

"Blood Is Thicker Than Love"

This fanfiction is based on the world famous Harry Potter series. It is set in the 7th and final book/movie and includes most of the original characters and aspects of the original plot although is not focused strongly around this. It also introduces a number of new characters created by the writer and is taken from the perspective of the newly created character, Delilah. Instead of focusing around the main trio of the series as the books do, the author of this fanfic instead created her own version of what they imagine would have been occurring back at Hogwarts whilst the main heroes were absent. The first chapter in my opinion is slightly confusing as it jumps straight into an apparent love triangle without much explanation or history on the relationships between the characters, making their reactions and they way they act towards each other hard to understand without prior knowledge to why there is hostility. I do like the originality that the author brings into the story by introducing the idea of vampires which is previously not seen in the original Harry Potter stories. I think as a whole the story is enjoyable, especially if you are a fan of the character of Draco, but not amazing. Some of the situations do not seem completely realistic to me and occasionally the characters seem a little unbelievable in their reactions. In most chapters there is a flashback to the past, showing Delilah's change into a vampire and helping to explain her past and why she is the way that she is. Although this does help to explore her personality and develop her into a real being I find that sometimes the flashback are rather long and drag on and often I ended up skipping them altogether as they seemed unrelated to the main story line.

Teen Titans

"A Little Perspective"

This fan fic focuses on the relationship between two of the main members of the "Teen Titans" Raven and Beast Boy. It is written from third person point of view and relates well to the original plot as well as relating back to the past episode which inspired it. I find that the writer kept true to the personalities of the characters and the dialogue was also very believable for me. I think that the idea behind the plot of this fanfic is very original and creative and allows the writer to explore the many sides of the character of Beast Boy while also being very entertaining and even slightly comical. The relationship between Beast Boy and Raven is hinted at often in the series however is never officially confirmed and so in this piece, which is set a few years in the future, their relationship is explored more in depth and overall I find it a very beleivable pairing. I do wish that the first few chapters had been a bit longer as they are well written but very short which limits story progression.

"New Pages"

This is another Teen titans fanfic but this time focuses on the character Raven in a different relationship with a side character from the series known as Malchior. This relationship does occur in the series but only briefly in one episode before Malchior betrays Raven and he is banished back into the book in which he was trapped. This fanfics creates a scenario in which Raven is forced to speak to him once again after he broke her heart. Although the plot has the potential to be a good addition to the original story line and the characters are true to themselves the majority of the time, I find that some parts of the story are a bit confusing and perhaps move to quickly without much explanation or build up. I do however like how the author develops some of the friendships and relationships between the main characters and helps show a deeper side to them.

Naruto

"Is it really hate?"

Based on the character Gaara from the popular manga/anime series "Naruto" this fanfic is a third person account of his relationship with another character created by the fanfic writer. Although Gaara is not the main focus of the original Naruto series the writer has chosen to write this peice from his point of view which allows you to see into his mind and explore his personality in a way that you usually can not. The writer was true to the original plot when recounting Gaara's past and I feel did a very good job og staying true to character with his actions and thoughts although possibly making him a little more sadistic then he is in the series. The new character which the writer creates is beleivable and is fit in well to the story. I also think that the use of descritive writting and imagery was done well and made the story very interesting and enjoyable to read.

Thriller Movies

Jaws
Jaws Unleashed

There seems to be no link from one scene to the next. I feel that there is no continuity in the story. However the images created does bring about some suspense.
